Melosa started life as a studio project mixing folk songs with fat drum patterns,
dub basslines and sampled brass. They first took to the stage in 2005 as an acoustic
four piece but as the gigs rapidly grew so did the line-up as they realised to make people
dance and turn their studio sound into a live reality they were going to need some more
musicians on stage! It didn't take long for the band to turn into the full grown ten piece
musical army that gigs today!
They have rocked crowds at the Beautiful Days, Boomtown, Sunrise, Beachbreak, Moorfest, Chagstock
& Fordstock festivals and stormed headline slots the Aeon & Budstock festivals. They
supported the legendary Toots & the Maytals on the southwest leg of his 2009 tour and
over the past few years have played support slots for Sly & Robbie, Ska Cubano and Jazz
Jamaica to name a few.
They are signed to WoodenGun records and have released four e.p's over the years.Their debut album has just been released and is available along with most of their back catalogue on all major download sites.

"The fact that the audience had unwound considerably by the time
Jazz Jamaica took to the stage was also due to a superb support

all expectations".thisisexeter
